Melodic Minds works to make music education accessible to every child. We provide music and music theory education to elementary aged children at no cost. We also host programming on Zoom, and create online content so that anyone who wants to can learn!
Learning and playing music has been shown to have unique benefits on the growing brain, and supports child development in all kinds of areas, from mathematics, concentration, and auditory processing, to language acquisition, IQ score, and even mental resilience. Unfortunately, music education can be prohibitively expensive, and despite these benefits, is often not available on school curriculums.
Through our free education, Melodic Minds is not only bringing music to those with the desire to learn, we’re also equipping young people with valuable skills and enrichment opportunities that will serve them for life.
Mission
"This semester has been such a rewarding experience. I had the chance to teach for six weeks at Horace Mann and Thomas Jefferson Elementary Schools. It’s been wonderful to watch the kids grow their piano skills and gain confidence with each lesson.
We focus on making music fun and approachable, keeping the kids curious and excited to learn. They even learned pieces like Clair de Lune and Happy Birthday, and worked hard to master rhythm. It’s been a joy to offer these lessons and give more kids a chance to play and enjoy music."
